Analysis

Joe Biden and Sarah Palin debate gay marriage, though it seems to be a non-issue this election season. But watch the Believability Meter spike red when Biden says he and Barack Obama support the right of gay couples and straight couples to be treated equally under the law. That redness may be explained by the duality of the Democrats' stance that although gay couples deserve equal rights, they should not be permitted to define their union as a marriage.
