Analysis

Sonia Sotomayor attempts to explain her controversial comments regarding wise latinas and white males before a Senate committee. In the first part of the clip, her explanation is practiced and smooth. The Believability Meter does not question her belief that no race or gender has a monopoly on sound judging.

But as she continues, things get a little dicey. When she says that people can be good judges "regardless of their background or life experiences," the Believability Meter says maybe not. Do you think that a judge should follow the constitution or should they just try to do what's right?
