Analysis

John McCain's VP selection, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, addresses delegates at the GOP convention. Critics say that the biggest factor in McCain's surprise pick was the untapped energy in Palin's home state, and this speech seems to bear that out. To her credit though, Palin claims that in a McCain administration America will utilize many different energy sources to achieve independence from foreign oil, but Al Gore should be suspicious. The Believability Meter's reaction to her laundry list hardly offers much hope for a solar-powered Republican White House in this lifetime. Are McCain and Palin just paying lip service to alternative fuels for the sake of moderate voters? Tell us what you think.
