Analysis

Once again we look back in history with the Believability Meter to a significant event in the 1980s.  Remember what could be considered the start of sensational reality television during the Iran Contra hearings?  The visual of Oliver North undergoing intense questions from Congress about his involvement was truly memorable in American history.  This December 1986 speech involves President Reagan talking about an independent counsel being assigned to start the investigation.  Follow along as we analyze how it all started and in particular look at his statements that anyone doing illegal acts will be brought to justice (1:48) and how he believes that Congressional oversight is an important job (2:06).  If only Realscoop was around back then!
