Analysis
This segment of the Congressional Hearings with Roger Clemens centers around one main topic: contacting the Nanny before the hearings. The Nanny plays a pivotal role in knowing whether or not Roger was at the famous Jose Canseco barbeque. The Believability Meter gets a good workout right away as Clemens claims he felt he was "doing ya'll a favor" (0:12) by contacting her before Congress had. There is a slight interruption as Rusty Hardin, one of Clemens' lawyers, tries to address Congressman Henry Waxman (D - California), only to be told he is not allowed to talk. After a quick whisper in Roger's ear from the other attorney, Clemens answers that he was told on Friday night to see if he could locate the Nanny (2:05). Waxman voices his displeasure of this event and the lawyers are back up to try to defend Roger. Roger concludes this clip by reiterating the "favor" he did (3:09), that he wanted to get her to Congress as quick as possible (3:15) and did not want to "get in the way of anything you guys are looking for" (3:23). This story is far from over.
