Analysis

Rod Blagojevich pleading his case again. This time in a video interview with Barbara Walters on The View. Blagojevich goes to great lengths to draw parallels between himself and Mahatma Ghandi, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and Nelson Mandela. All while insisting that "under no circumstances" has he tried to make those connections. The Believability Meter sees right through Blagojevich's pretensions at political martyrdom. When he claims to think of such men often as "inspiration," the red shows up right away.

Even more crucial is the Believability Meter's reaction to two key Blagojevich statements. He says there was no "criminal wrongdoing," and the Believability Meter says that's accurate, but then calls Blago's bluff when he says there was no "criminal intent." It's easy to see that the crimes he intended were never committed because of his arrest, but the corruption was always there. Do you think you might miss Rod Blagojevich a little bit?
