Analysis

Robert Redford, in this video interview at the Sundance Film Festival, speaks optimistically about the impact of Barack Obama's inauguration on the art industry. The Believability Meter thinks Redford is sincere with his praise, and clearly he believes that the "change it's gonna be representing," will be a positive one.

Don't try to nail Redford down to any specifics though. Amidst a sea of generaities, Redford's claim that "art and culture" will return to "the national agenda" seems a somewhat ambitious prediction, and the Believability Meter says Redford may be pulling that one out of thin air. After all, considering the current financial crisis, it's hard to know where "art and culture" will rank on Barack Obama's priority list. Would you base your political agenda on the opinions of celebrities?
