Analysis

Michael Steele, newly-elected chairman of the Republican National Committee, talks to Fox News about the three Republican Senators, Arlen Specter, Susan Collins, and Olympia Snowe, who voted in favor of the stimulus package that passed last month. In this video interview, Steele signals that the RNC will look to the state-level GOP parties and will "follow their lead" with regard to the renegade senators.

The Believability Meter says that Steele may be intending to do more leading than following. It's likely that Michale Steele and the rest of the Republican National Committee are very unhappy about losing the last two elections and have put a high price on loyalty, or rather, disloyalty. Do you think it was good or bad that those senators voted in favor of the stimulus package?

I'm from Maine and a registered democrat. I will definitely vote for my two senators regardless of what Mr. Steele and his party does to them. I"m proud of the fact that our senators put country ahead of oppositional ideology and voted for what was needed to jump start the economy and support our newly elected president.
