Have you ever had a friend turn on you?  Dogged by rumors of steriod use, a defiant Marion Jones held a press conference several years ago "for the third time" and announced that the "truth is my friend".   Listen as she ridicules those who are accusing her and claims she would be willing to answer questions before the US Senate.  The Believability Meter springs to life as Marion insists that the forum be "modeled after a judicial proceding" (0:23)  and when extra emphasis is added to the word "never" using performance enhancing drugs (0:37).  The clip ends with a bit of foreshadowing as Marion states the importance of retaining her most treasured attribute...her reputation (0:54).  As she sits in jail serving her 6 month sentence for lying about her steriod use, we wonder what type of new friends she is meeting.
