Analysis

It is difficult to imagine a less sympathetic character than Joran van der Sloot in the continuing drama of Natalee Holloway's 2005 disappearance in Aruba. Now, Joran is back, going on the record with Greta Van Susteren in this video interview. After claiming to have sold Natalee, presumably into some sort of slavery, Joran says that if she were alive that would be "the best thing in the world." The Believability Meter doesn't buy that sentiment for a second. It also cries foul when Joran says he would like to look into Natalee's case on his own...if he had a million dollars. Seeing as Van Susteren is offering Joran the chance to do exactly that for free, and he turns her down, we probably didn't even need the Believability Meter to know who's full of it in this video. What do you think Natalee's father would pay to be alone on a beach late at night with Joran van der Sloot?
