Jill Biden, wife of Joe Biden, announced in this video on Oprah that her husband was offered his choice of roles in the Obama administration. Left with the decision between Vice President and Secretary of State, it's not hard to see why Biden chose the former. But Hillary Clinton might be a little bit annoyed to find out on national television that she was actually Obama's second choice for the head of the State Department.

Later, after the Oprah Show, Biden's public relations people released a statement claiming that Biden was never offically offered the Secretary of State job. Rather he simply thought it was a possibility. The Believability Meter doesn't think that's quite the way it went down. In any case, Jill Biden certainly believed that Joe Biden had his pick of the two posts. Is this old news or yet another example of the sexist glass ceiling that has long kept Ms. Clinton from recieving her just political desserts?
