Analysis

Rep. Jane Harman (D-CA) talks to Wolf Blitzer about allegations that the Justice Department wiretapped her office and caught her in a possible act of treason. DOJ claims to have busted Harman plotting with representatives of AIPAC to share sensitive military information with the Israelis. Harman claims she has no idea what they are talking about.

The Believability Meter says Harman is being sincere. Not only did she have no idea that she was being wiretapped, and seems appalled by such an"abuse of power," but she also says she had no idea that the Bush administration was not following the law in their own surveillance efforts. Something about absolute power corrupting absolutely comes to mind. Do you trust the government?
