Analysis

Treasury Secretary, Henry Paulson, talks in this video clip about the improvement of market conditions since Congressional approval of the record $700 billion Wall Street bailout in early October. Though Paulson rattles off a list of supposed accomplishments in this video, the Believability Meter does not buy his claim that those factors have "significantly improved market conditions." This is likely because, like everybody else, Paulson can only hope that what the Treasury Department has done so far will be enough to unfreeze credit markets and get our consumer economy consuming again.
