One of our earliest Scoops was an interview that Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich gave to a group of reporters while he was campaigning for reelection. During the interview he was peppered with questions about a $1,500 birthday check to his eight year old daughter from someone seeking a state government job. His stammering and deer-in-the-headlights look certainly seems to support the Believability Meter's analysis of his answers as very questionable.

Now that Blagojevich has been formally indicted on federal corruption charges, one could be excused for thinking that a state government job might have set them back about $1,500, but those seeking Barack Obama's U.S. Senate seat may need to add a few zeros to that check... Raise your hand if you think Rod Blagojevich is the only government official for sale these days.
