Analysis

Fritz Henderson, the new CEO of General Motors, talk with Glenn Beck on Fox news about the role of the federal government in GM's future. Henderson claims that "neither the UAW...nor the federal government has demonstrated any interest in running our business." That's a tough one to swallow considering that Barack Obama personally fired Henderson's predecessor, Rick Wagoner.

The Believability Meter thinks so too. Henderson's comments register as "Highly Questionable" for obvious reasons. The UAW and the federal government have now been given majority ownership positions in the new GM. It's hard to see how they could have no interest in running the multi-billion dollar company they just bought. Will GM ever repay the taxpayers?
