Analysis

Robert Reich offers what he seems to think is a strightforward explanation of the "public option" being discussed in the health care reform debate. In reality, Reich comes across as condescending while talking down to his audience as if they were children. Not to mention that the Believability Meter doesn't buy his explanation at all.

When Reich says that the public option "would not be subsidized by the government" or "have the government set the rules for anyone," the Believability Meter's does not think he means what he is saying. Of course neither does anyone else who understands the way in which government programs inevitably grow and crowd out the marketplace. Why do you think Robert Reich is so eager to convince people to support a plan that clearly would not work the way he claims?

The Jewelers Board of Trade is the only organization dedicated solely to providing credit reporting, collections and marketing services to the jewelry industry. Our database of over 70,000 jewelry industry-related businesses provides JBT members with the latest information to support their credit decision processes. While our focus has historically been on the North American market, we're broadening our scope to establish a more global database and services offering for the international jewelry community.
