As we approach the five year anniversary of the slightly premature "Mission Accomplished" speech by President Bush regarding the Iraq War, one could ask how did it all go so wrong.  Should we have been able to predict and understand the pitfalls of "liberating" a country like Iraq?  Back in 1994 Dick Cheney seemed to know the dangers of this very issue and talked about it in this short clip.  However, as the Believability Meter indicates perhaps Cheney was putting a little spin on his answers.  After all, if he himself did not fully believe the reasons against invading Iraq back in 1994, then we would end up having a real problem on our hands if we went ahead with a liberation plan years later.  Sort of like, well, what we have now.
