Analysis

George Soros, a wealthy financial speculator infamous for funding the controversial full page "General Betray Us" ad in the New York Times in 2007, gloats at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Soros expounds on his theory that the global real estate bubble was simply one part of a "super bubble" whose bursting led to the global financial crisis.

As Soros brags, he was able to "protect [his] capital" despite the downturn, and even as many other wealthy people have gone broke. The Believability Meter says Soros is for real. No doubt his background in currency speculation has served him well in these chaotic times. At a conference where it was all the rage to trash the U.S. for causing the global meltdown, one can only hope that George Soros remembered to tell everyone just how good capitalism and America has been to him. Do you think George Soros is a hypocrite?
