Analysis

David Axelrod, a spokesman and top adviser for Barack Obama talked to George Stephanopoulis on ABC This Week about the White House's war on Fox News. Axelrod says of Fox, "They're not really a news organization." The Believability Meter says he is probably pushing the point.

Is it possible that President Obama and David Axelrod really want to silence Fox News, not because it isn't news, but simply because it is critical of the administration? Axelrod says that he and other spokespeople "will participate" with Fox News programming, but the Believability Meter doesn't buy that claim either.

Does it even make sense for a representatives of the President of the United States to talk this way?
