Analysis

NFL running back, Ryan Moats was rushing to the hospital with his wife to be with his dying mother in law when an over-zealous Dallas police officer stopped and harassed them for running a red light. Robert Powell, the officer, has since resigned, and Moats and his wife have gone on Good Morning American in this video interview to discuss the incident.

The Believability Meter backs up Moats the whole way. According to Powell, he never pointed his gun at Moats or his wife, but Moats says otherwise and the Believability Meter agrees. Also, Moats points out that he was not reckless in his rush to the hospital, using his flashers and signaling for permission from other drivers before moving through an intersection when the light was red. Powell is white and Moats is black, do you think that race had anything to do with the police officer's overreaction?
