Analysis

Robert Nardelli of Chrysler seems to have the most ambitious plan out of the three CEO's testifying on Capitol Hill for the future of his company. Nardelli may not be totally reliable in this video though, as the Believability Meter calls into question many of the facts and figures he throws out to demonstrate Chrysler's continuing journey towards actually turning a profit. Also telling is the Believability Meter's negative reaction when Nardelli claims to be committed to negotiating with "all constituents," meaning, of course, the labor unions whose unsustainable wage demands have been widely excoriated as a major contributing factor in the auto makers' impending demise. Nevertheless, Nardelli does seem confident that Chrysler can meet a rather arbitrary goal of 500,000 electric vehicles on the road by 2013. No word on whether that will include golf carts and personal scooters, but the number sure sounds impressive. Would you give him the money?
