In May of 2008, Charles Barkley was sued by the Wynn Casino in Las Vegas for $400,000 in unpaid gambling losses. In this video interview on ESPN, Barkley claims he will not be gambling anymore. Then he promptly backpedals to say maybe just not for a year or two.
There haven't been any lawsuits against Barkley since May, so perhaps he has gotten his addiction under control, but when Barley says "I am not going to gamble anymore," the Believability Meter says don't bet on it. Is it anybody else's business how Barkley chooses to blow his millions?

Sir Charles is a piece of work. I really like him because he says what he thinks and doesn't "play the public relations game". I think he really thought he was going to stop gambling, but he will continue to do it because he gets pleasure from it. Eventually he will have to admit that he's got a problem.
