Analysis

Bill Clinton, our 42nd president, (aka Slick Willie) is at it again. This time he's giving a video interview to Larry King about the $787 billion stimulus package recently passed by Congress. There has been much debate over the package's stimulative viability, and, it seems from this clip, with good reason.

When Clinton says he thinks the package is "quite a good bill" and it "will do what it's designed to do," the Believability Meter says he doesn't think that at all. Maybe that's because there is no possible way to know what the overall effects of the stimulus package will be, and according to the Congressional Budget Office, less than 25% of the spending will take place during a timeframe that could reasonably be considered stimulative. Given those factors, it's no surprise Slick Willie is hedging his bets. Have you told your children yet how much this bill will cost them?
