This one is fun as it was made the day Barack Obama announced he was going to file to explore running for President. And it demonstrates the obvious spin that is put on your typical "to the people" speech that so many politicians give. This was most likely a rehearsed speech and probably had a teleprompter running, but it is stiill interesting to watch the Believability Meter on specific points. After talking to people and reading e-mails, he surmises that everyone is hungry for a different kind of politics (0:11). Too bad some of his comments about how the economy is changing sound like standard spin, as they have become all too real several months later (0:30). Still, he seems to not be convinced himself that the "smallness of politics" is his biggest concern (0:55). The ending is fun as well as he says he "believes in you" (1:23).

Same ol' spin. Just another politician.
They tell you what you want to hear.
