Analysis

On CNBC's Squawk Box, Chairman of Chainbridge Bank, Peter Fitzgerald, gives his opinion of the banking system. Fitzgerald claims that the banking system is "improving," but the Believability Meter thinks that might be an overly optimistic assessment.

The Believability Meter is questionable again later in this video interview when Fitzgerald tries to lay much of the blame for the current financial crisis at the feet of big banks. Most likely, Fitzgerald knows this is an oversimplified explanation, and is just attempting to shore up his own part of the industry. Can we trust anything these guys say anymore?
